ALL IRELAND CHAMPS
Manulla primary school completed a unprecedented 3 in a row all Ireland titles in the girls and 3 out of 4 titles in the boys. Both teams did not have it easy and all players kept their focus throughout the day. Encouraged by parents, teachers, pupils and coaches each player gave a 100 %,resulting in all silverware in primary schools competition heading west to a small school of just 30 pupils. Lets hope that these will continue to play when they go to their secondary school and be supported as they were when in Manulla primary school. The people of manulla came out to support the school on arriving back to community centre with the bonfires blazing long into the night.
The boys team was Brian Tansey,Darren Tansey, Oisin Jordan, Jude Clarke, Adam Walsh, Callan Jennings. The girls team was Jillian Clarke, Anna Mae Clarke, Emma leneghan, Rhiona Jordan, Lucy Connolly, Anna Lyons, are a credit to their families.
On behalf of club I wish to thank all involved in this achievement especially fionnula Costello,Nola Gibbons ,Liam Tansey and Saoirse Jordan who helped make it happen.

Functional Fitness are Murphy Cup Champions 2016 Despite a delay in the final starting the team from functional fitness had the narrowest of wins against St Geralds wining 4.3 in the end. With the No 3s wining 1 match each, the overall match was now 3.3 . |

Murphy Cup 2016 Final
The final two teams have been decided for this year s Murphy Cup. The final will have interesting matchups both Kevin and Jaime at No 1 positions have been having close matches of late. The No 2 positions Mathew Walsh has made big improvement s as the Cup has gone forward will have a tough match with the dangerous Rory Smith. The No 3 positions could involve the experience of Adrian Kenna for St Geralds and Declan Walsh for functional fitness or the young guns of Danny Elfechi or Evan lawless , whoever is involved in these positions will surely have a big part in the destination of the Cup for this year.Match starts sharp at 7 pm
In division 1 it is the sharks against K.F.C.This match is too close to call and will be down to who plays the better on the evening. Players of the competition and trophies will be presented after the final. Division 1 final starts at 6pm Sharp.

Murphy Cup Update
It is down to last week of Murphy cup and 4of the 5 team's are still with a chance of qualifying for the finals night. The one team which will not be there manulla rangers could have a big bearing on which teams qualifies. St Geralds (topspin)have qualified already with castlebar ttc, manulla tigers, and functional fitness hoping to get the final place.Castlebar ttc have only to win against rangers to qualify but if they loose by a 5.2 score and F.F lose then tigers will qualify. In order for F.F to qualify they will have to beat St Geralds at least 5.2 and result to go rangers way against castlebar ttc.All very close and exciting.
Best of luck to Chloe,Aaron and Brian Tansey who are travelling to the nationals this Wend in the national basketball arena.

MURPHY CUP UPDATE
After two weeks of the premier division, Castlebar T.T.C have 2 hard fought wins over Manulla Tigers and functional fitness to take a early lead. Tigers have 1 win along with St Geralds topspin team, with Manulla rangers and functional fitness without a win. That said it is still all to play for as all matches have gone to the deciding doubles and 1- 2 wins with a good ratio could see a team qualify for the March final.Division 1 team update next week.

In the under 18 girls Chloe also played well in the group but went onto play in the plate event, in this event she lost to katie Hayes of Mountrath on a 2:0 Scoreline.
Overall the three players can take positive aspects from the event and we know Aaron where they love to improve in the future.
Reminder of closing date round 4 of Connacht Junior Racking next week.
