Connacht Leagues
The Connacht Leagues / Top 8 will continue under the current format ,but has been moved to Breaffy accommodating larger numbers. Last season saw an upsurge in Senior Participation from all parts of the Province. we must not forget that there is a fun aspect to the spot and the Connacht Leagues is an ideal opportunity for all age groups and players with different levels of ability to interact. The Top 8 is increasingly competitive as our stronger juniors/cadets are developing to a level where they can now compete with seniors.
National Junior Training Camp
Three Conncaht 9 years have already been selected for the ITTA Hopes Training Camp. The ITTA will be writing to the parents concerned in due course but the above dates have already been confirmed. The ITTA Hopes Initiative is targeting both boys and girls born on and after 2001. The Branch will be actively involved in this initiative and will be making representations on behalf of other players ( subject to parental / coach approval ) as the season progresses. The Connacht Academy’s Talent ID programme / Provincial Ranking Events are ideal opportunities for this age-group to show-case talents.
Two Connacht Cadet Players are currently involved with the National Junior Training Camp but this is likely to increase as the season progresses. There are a number of other Cadets within the Province who are currently on selection fringes that are likely to be invited pending performance in the Irish Junior Classification. These are 2-day Camps and players selected must be in attendance unless they have a legitimate excuse. To be available for selection, players must participate in National Events.

National Junior Open
The National Junior League proved to be a successful project for the ITTA 2012 with Players from Mayo & Roscommon participating. It's a great event and the Branch would encourage more clubs and schools to get involved. The junior league caters for all abilities while at the same time demonstrates the importance of team play in the sport. This is a one-day event with a venue yet to be confirmed.
Connacht Senior Open
The Connacht Senior Open takes place early October and the Branch would encourage Connacht Cadets& Juniors to participate. Junior prices will be significantly discounted to encourage entry.
